Spring Clean your Wellness

Mar 20, 2023

As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, it’s the perfect time to take a step back and evaluate our overall wellness. Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation, and it’s the ideal time to start fresh and make some positive changes in our lives. From our physical wellness to our mental wellness, there are many areas we can focus on to spring clean our wellness. Here are some tips and ideas to get you started spring cleaning your wellness this season.

Get Moving

One of the most important aspects of our physical wellness is regular exercise. Spring is the perfect time to get moving and enjoy the great outdoors. Whether it’s taking a walk, enjoying a cycle, or trying out a new workout class, there are many ways to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Not only does exercise improve our physical health, but it also releases endorphins, which can boost our mood and reduce stress – which in turn, aids in fat burning!

Eat a Healthy Diet

Along with regular exercise, a healthy diet is essential for our overall wellness. Spring is a great time to focus on incorporating more fresh food into our meals. These foods are packed with essential vitamins and nutrients that can help keep us feeling energized and healthy. Additionally, focusing on whole foods and good fats whilst reducing our intake of processed foods and refined carbs can have a significant impact on our physical health.

Practice Mindfulness

Mental wellness is just as important as physical wellness. Spring is a great time to start practicing mindfulness and meditation. Taking a few minutes each day to focus on our breath and clear our minds can have a profound impact on our mental wellness. It can help reduce stress, improve focus, and increase our overall sense of wellness.

Get Plenty of Sleep

Sleep is crucial for our overall health and wellness. During the spring months, it’s important to establish a healthy sleep routine. This includes going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, avoiding screens for at least an hour before bedtime, and creating a relaxing environment in the bedroom. Getting enough sleep can improve our mood, reduce stress, and improve our overall physical health.

Declutter Your Space

A cluttered space can lead to a cluttered mind. Spring is a great time to declutter our homes and workspaces. This can include getting rid of items we no longer need, organising our belongings, and creating a clean and calming environment. A tidy space can improve our mental wellness and reduce stress and anxiety.

Connect with Others

Human connection is essential for our overall wellness. Spring is a great time to connect with friends and family and build meaningful relationships. This can include scheduling regular phone calls or video chats, planning outdoor activities together, or simply taking the time to connect and catch up with loved ones.

Set Goals

Setting goals is a great way to stay motivated and focused on our overall wellness. Spring is the perfect time to set new goals and make positive changes in our lives. Whether it’s a fitness goal, a career goal, or a personal development goal, setting achievable targets can help us stay on track and make progress towards our desired outcomes.

Practice Self-Care

Self-care is essential for our overall wellness. Spring is a great time to focus on self-care practices that can help us feel more relaxed and rejuvenated. This can include taking a bubble bath, practicing yoga, reading a book, or simply taking the time to do something we enjoy.

Reduce Stress

Stress can have a significant impact on our physical and mental health. It can also prevent us from losing stubborn body fat! Spring is a great time to identify areas of stress in our lives and take steps to reduce them. This can include practicing relaxation techniques, delegating tasks at work, or seeking support from friends or a mental health professional.

Drink Lots of Water

I feel like people always roll their eyes at this one. It is drummed into us from a young age that we should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day yet so few of us do it. Drinking water can help improve your energy, aid your weight loss, improve your sleep, brighten your skin, aid digestion and improve joint health (amongst many other benefits) so getting at least 2 litres a day (excluding tea or coffee) is imperative to wellness!

Get Outside

Finally, one of the best things you can do for your wellness is to spend time outdoors. There’s a lot to be said for fresh air and connecting with nature and is there really any better time to start that spring? If you do one thing differently today, get outside for a walk and watch the world coming back to life. You will feel so good for it.

Spring truly is a time of new beginnings so put what’s happened before behind you and incorporate these tips into your life for optimal results. You will feel like a brand new person in no time at all.
